PIC cloud updates changelog

PIC cloud is continuously improved with new features and resolved issues based on your feedback. Learn what's new in the latest PIC cloud version.

September 2025

[Added]

  • New PIC store: The store page has been completely redesigned for improved ease of use and clarity, with different product types (subscriptions, capture packs, and PIC transfers) in tabs instead of a single page.
    • Subscriptions: improved outline of what's included in each subscription, compare all available subscriptions in a simple table, interactive recommendation to find the right choice based on your needs, calculate your average case costs, and more.
    • PIC transfers configurator: browse compatible PIC transfers for any brand's direct-to-implant and abutment-level platforms. Don't see a component you work with? Contact us to request a new custom design at no additional cost.
    • New checkout: includes an improved breakdown of the initial payment and total commitment for monthly subscriptions, better display of discounts
  • Implant capture packs: Packages of prepaid implant captures are now available for sale on the PIC store. Capture packs are automatically used for validating cases and provide savings compared to the regular per-implant fee. Implant capture packs don't expire. You can also transfer any number of implant captures from your account to any of your partner accounts.
  • PIC transfer activation: Newly purchased PIC transfers now can be activated directly on PIC cloud by scanning the QR code provided on the inside of the box or using the manual activation code. A new button on the PIC transfers page lets any user activate a kit for their user or their account.

[Fixed]

  • Improved payment email notifications: New email notifications are sent for when a payment method is about to expire and when a scheduled monthly payment has failed to avoid unintended service interruptions.

[Changed]

  • PIC cloud (the subscription) is now PIC lab: To better separate the difference between PIC cloud the platform (that can be accessed with any subscription and is used for managing cases, PIC transfers, partners…) from PIC cloud the subscription (intended for labs that provides access specifically to case and library downloads), the PIC cloud subscription has been renamed to PIC lab.
  • PIC transfer user ownership: Previously, only accounts (companies) could activate and manage PIC transfer kits. Now, any PIC cloud user can activate and manage their PIC transfer kits, regardless of whether they have their account.

This enables clinicians to use their own PIC transfer kits for cases across any accounts they are invited to (e.g., when a lab provides their PIC app subscription to a doctor, or a doctor collaborates with several dental offices that each have their own account with a PIC app subscription).

[Added]

  • Partner account case validation: For cases shared with partner accounts, the account that's receiving the case can now optionally validate the case using its own billing. A new selector during validation of shared cases allows to choose which account will be charged for the validation.
  • Leave account button: Users that were invited to an external account can now leave it at any time from the User Settings page in the Accounts tab.

  • PIC zone invitations: When inviting new external users to an account or adding a partner account from the PIC zone directory, an email invitation is sent to the respective user or account owner. They must click on the link in the invitation email to accept the collaboration.

When adding a partner account using the secret partner code (visible on the Account page), no invitation is necessary; the collaboration is activated immediately.

[Fixed]

  • Scan marker numbering: The scan marker selector in PIC cloud now correctly displays the dental position number instead of the PIC transfer number.

[Changed]

  • Improved case action icons: New, clearer icons visually identify key case actions such as downloading a PIC file, downloading libraries, and changing scan markers.
  • Improved validation interface: The case validation interface has been redesigned for greater clarity on what validation means.
  • Enhanced scan marker selector: The scan marker selector on the case page has been updated with a new drop-down option to change scan markers for all positions simultaneously.
  • User and account identifier: The upper right corner of PIC cloud now displays both the current user's username and the currently open account to provide better clarity for users with access to or ownership of multiple accounts.
  • User and account information sidebar: The sidebar that opens when tapping the user and account identifier has been redesigned for greater clarity on the current account and user information. A drop-down account switcher enables fast access for users with multiple accounts.
  • User settings accounts tab: The “Profile” page has been renamed to “User Settings” for better clarity. It now includes an Accounts tab showing all the user's own and external accounts in one place.

[Fixed]

  • Measurements panel: In some cases, the Measurements panel in the case viewer was showing incorrect values for angulations and distances. This has been corrected for all affected cases.
  • PIC zone partner search filters: In some cases, the Province filter in the PIC zone partner search panel was not working. This has been fixed.
  • Dashboard behavior with multiple accounts: Some users reported the dashboard not showing the updated information when logging out and into different PIC cloud accounts. The dashboard now refreshes as intended in these cases.
  • Case list sharing error: When sharing a case with a partner account from the case list, an “\[object Object]” text string could be visible. This has been fixed.
  • More descriptive payment errors: If a payment fails on the PIC store or during case validation, the error message now provides more detailed information to explain why the transaction did not succeed, such as a bank rejection or insufficient card funds.

[Changed]

  • New case statuses: Pending, Validated, and Downloaded statuses have been added to enable clearer tracking of cases.
