Identifying PIC transfers
How to identify a PIC transfer based on its kit and individual numbers.
Each PIC transfer in existence is identified by two numbers: the kit number and the individual number.
1. PIC transfer kit number
Identifies the kit to which the PIC transfer belongs to.
- Located on the top face of the PIC transfer
- Contains numbers + letters (e.g. 123MUA)
- The letters identify which implant or abutment platform the PIC transfers is compatible with. For example, PIC transfers MUA are compatible with the Nobel® 4.8 multi-unit abutment platform, and PIC transfers RSA are compatible with Straumann® screw-retained abutments.
- All PIC transfers within a kit are designed for a single implant or abutment platform.
2. Individual PIC transfer number
Identifies a single PIC transfer within a kit.
- Located on the bottom face of the PIC transfer
- Standard PIC transfers number from 0 to 9 for standard-sized kits or A to E for Mini kits
Dot patterns
Each of the PIC transfer units in a kit has a unique dot pattern, used by the PIC camera for their identification during capture.
Example of a 10-unit standard PIC transfer kit. Note the different dot pattern on each of the individual units.
PIC transfer dot patterns are common amongst different PIC transfer kits. For example, PIC transfer 4 in the kit 123MUA will have the same dot pattern as PIC transfer 4 in the kit 456RSA.
Different PIC transfer kits may be combined in a single capture (learn more).
